Change VM package to exclude landline weekend charges.

I have VM broadband, M500, and a landline, which is VOIP, for which I pay for weekend calls only.

The landline is rarely used and most calls in and out are by mobile phone so I am considering stopping the weekend calls charge when I update my package. If I do that does my landline remain connected to the exchange and if I make any calls on it I get charged for those individual calls, or is the landline disconnected completely?

'Weekend Chatter' is included in all landline packages.

Due to VM's bundle discount approach, you may find a renewal offer including a landline may be cheaper than broadband alone.

Thanks for you thoughts on this isssue and you may well be correct but before making any choices I'd like to know if my landline is likely to be disconnected if I stop the Weekend Chatter.

Weekend Chatter is bundled with all VM's residential landlines. You can't unbundle it AFAIK.

If your plan is based on the idea that the phone line from the VM hub is somehow incorporated as part of the broadband (because the landline connects to the back of the hub), that isn't the case. VM charges separately for the landline in addition to the broadband but within the overall price for the bundle. VM does not publish the separate landline/broadband costs when they are part of a package. So VM's packages are either Broadband only or Broadband + Landline (and the landline includes Weekend Chatter).
