Virgin Go not playing 360 box recordings

Using Go App on my Windows 10 PC.  Great for viewing live TV, boxsets etc.

I can request the 360 box to make recordings & view what recording have been made.  So the PC is connected to the 360 box. However, I just get message "only available to view on 360 box". I can play the recordings on the TV but not on the PC. Even removed the cable from the 360 box, so both it & PC were using the same Wifi, still no result.

Was actually able to speak with a Customer Services person yesterday, who consulted "the team" and advised you cannot play recordings with the Go App.

Community messages here suggest, subject to some licensing restrictions etc, that you should be able to play recording with the Go App. Can anyone please clarify, before I try Customer Services again.

  • Thanks, can confirm nodrogd provided the answer,

Formula 1 on my Android tablet looked like a video game, but recording from 360 box worked. Would be good if Virgin, or Customer Services, could make this clear & save confusion :))

    Very Insightful Person

The TV Go app can only be used on mobiles & tablets due to broadcaster restrictions. This is  because it is fairly easy to illegally copy recordings with Windows equipment.

If you have a Windows PC or laptop, you should be using the website version:

  • Many thanks for the quick reply. Much more helpful than Customer Services :))

I will check your suggestion & see if using Chrome on the PC makes any difference.

    Thanks again
