Sky Player and Windows 11

Hi,

I bought a new laptop that runs Windows 11, and I've installed everything successfully except the desktop Sky Player. I can log into my Virgin Media account on Sky fine, but every time I try and watch Sky Sports the player opens up, then after a few seconds it simply shuts down again. I've checked I'm running the latest version and also deleted and reinstalled the app. Is there anything else I should try as it's very frustrating.

Thanks, but again this is not the Sky Player. This relates to the Sky+ App, which is not what I want.

Read the many threads over on the Sky forums about this.  It’s not really a VM problem.

Looked through the forums, can't see anything that relates to the Sky Player, only the Sky Go app, which is not the same.

It seems Sky Player was superseded by Sky Go in 2011?
“ Sky Player launched as Sky’s way of letting you watch Sky TV channels without the need for a satellite dish, a set-top box or a long-term subscription to Sky. It was replaced by Sky Go in 2011 “

  • Hey CC29, thank you for reaching out and we are so sorry to hear about your Sky Player issues.

Have you gone over the device limit maybe?

Is it working on any other devices?

    Does Virgin TV GO work?

      Hi Matthew,

No, I've checked the device limit, it's fine.

It works on my old Windows 10 laptop and my Android phone.

Virgin TV Go is fine on this laptop.

The issue seems to be only with this new Windows 11 laptop and the Sky Player.

Seems to be an issue with the app?  Lots of complaints over on the Sky forums about this.
