IP region issues

Hey all

So.. has or is anyone else experiencing issues with either Netflix or Disney apps reporting errors stating that they think you are not in the region you are supposed to be..

Ever since these companies have started cracking down on account sharing (never did it only wife and kids devices), we have experienced this issue.  We don't use a VPN for the streaming devices either.

So I thought it must be these companies right... but... if I create a hot-spot on my phone using mobile data, connect the devices to my hot-spot there are no issues. No problems at all.

Now.. I do use an asus router for my network and have the VM one in modem mode so... I reverted back to a 'standard' setup just using the VM hub... still the same issue.

Any ideas anyone?

  • Just ignore this post...

Searching around shows multiple people on different ISP's are having the same issue.

Interestingly, using mobile data resolved it for those that tried it too.  I'm on three but people on O2 mobile worked too

  • Has anyone really got to the bottom of this? It is so frustrating.  Using mobile data is not a solution to the problem. It has something to do with the IP address, which I have checked is a VM and UK IP address.

Hey Aeolusuk, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about your IP issues.

You should only be getting the UK catalogue nothing else, which region are you getting?
