Can't login to sky sports app?

I have 2 android tablets which both used to connect to the sky sports app. 2 days ago i went through all the steps (2nd email, new password, verification etc) to eventually setup my new "combined " login for virgin and O2. 

One of the tablets connects fine to the sky sports app and my virgin.  However....can't get the 2nd tablet to work at all. I launch the app....get the sky sports sign in page...and when pressing the dedicated " virgin" button....nothing happens!!!  It's as if that button now directs to an old/ obsolete etc link? 

 

I have tried deleting cache/ data....uninstalled and reinstalled the app.....but the "virgin" login button just doesn't work.

Can anyone help please?!?

    Thanks. It turns out my new VMO2 login was not correctly set up: when I logged out of My VM on PC and Android app I could no longer log in to them either. Going through the My VM login setup and linking on my PC worked, and I can now login OK to all services including Sky Sports 

  • Well!!!!!!!!!  The success i posted about some 40mins ago....was all complete rubbish!!! It is a bit of a long story ( involving children swapping parents tablet covers!!!)

    I was able to login on the no1 tablet.....the no2 which i have just tried....still has the non working " virgin button".......

      Thanks for reaching out to us, apologies for the issues that you are having with logging into your account. We have introduced a new Single Sign On for Virgin and O2 customers, this requires your re-register for an online account. Should you have any email domains with us, ie, Virgin, Virginmedia, NTLWorld, or BlueYonder as your primary log in email address, please re-register using an email domain that is not affiliated with us such as Gmail, Hotmail etc. 

      Please let us know how you get on. 

  • After several days trying....i have finally got skysports app to work on my no2 android tablet.  I again uninstalled the app.....reloaded.....then in android apps deleted the small cache and data that was already showing.  I logged in.....and when pressing the "virgin" button was surprised that this time the virginO2 login and password appeared.  After input...there were the skysports channels etc.

    I am not clear whether the reloading app/ deleting data and cache was what did the trick?  Or whether something has been reconfigured at the virgin end??

    Good luck to others still suffering!!!!!!

    I can't sign into anything at the moment. virgin go,virgin connect, sky sports. What is going on ?  It's absolute garbage. been like this for a week now. When are virgin going to sort this shambles out ? Thinking of cancelling the whole lot.

    Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your issue with the Sky App. On the tablet that is not letting you log in, have you logged into your Virgin Media account on there, then tried logging into the Sky App?

      I have a similar problem today. I can login to Sky Sports using my VM login on PC browser, but cannot log in to Sky Sports on either android phone or tablet: I get sent into a loop of enter email, verify email with link, then it fails. I can log in to my VM on both devices through app and browser but cannot login to Sky Sports

        When logging into the Sky Sports app on an android device make sure that you have the latest version installed. (It may be the same procedure on ios devices, however I can't check as I only have androids)

        After clearing the memory/cache then please uninstall the app and reboot your android device before re-installing the app and then try and sign in.

        If you then see a mesage saying you need to verify your identity then use the fingerprint method if that's enabled on your device, other select try another way and you should receive a verification link sent to the email address that SkySports is registered with (you might need to check your spam folder)

        Once received click on the blue Verify it's me button in the email, and if a browser page opens then click on the prompted I requested this link in the browser window, and on the next screen (Finish verifying your email address) click on the Verify and continue link.  The browser window should then close and you should find yourself logged into the Sky Sports app.

      Hi Sabrina.

      Thanks for responding. I tried logging in to MyVirgin using my new O2 login....which worked fine. I then tried to login on the skysports app and still the "use virgin" login button did nothing.

      Just as an aside....the Virgin TVgo app on the second tablet still works fine. Logs in automatically and channels working etc. As before if i try to watch a skysports channel it dumps me out to use the external app......and thats where i run into the "virgin button not working" issue......

       

       

  • Similar problems here. Trying to watch skysports app on a tablet. Went through loads of steps to set up a new linked login for virginO2 and was given a six word recovery code ( valid until 2075!!!!!!)

    My new login seemed to work first time....but now when i get to the "virgin" button on the sky login page....nothing happens.  I tried wiping data and cache from the app but no joy logging in.
