Cannot access sky sports on mobile

I have a new mobile which is registered as a device and I can access virgin channels and tnt but cannot get sky sports. I have installed and deleted and reinstalled the sky sports app and am singing in using he virgin sign in option but it just keeps saying I don’t have sky sports. I can view fine on my iPad and tv but not the mobile. I still have one device remaining in the device page and this mobile shows as a registered device - help!

  • As I mentioned above I am signing in with my virgin login exactly the same as on my previous phone and on my iPad using the virgin sign in button ( not the sky option) and have checked my device is registered in my account settings. I shows I am signed in but just doesn’t allow me to watch live sky sports content but works fine on my iPad.
virgin tv go works fine on all other channels including tnt on my phone so my login and device registration must be ok.

      Hi Bzoow,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you're having issues watching Sky Sports on your mobile device. As it's working on your iPad, it rules out an account level issue.

Just to clarify, you do now need a VM O2 ID, as mentioned by newapollo. Can you confirm if you've set this up and are able to access My VM?

Pop back and let us know so we can help further.

      Many thanks,

  • So are you saying that the I’d I have used to log in to VM connect and Virgin tv go and my virgin media is not any use and somehow I need to now have a different id? This is not something that has been communicated and seems completely illogical. Why have an id for tv go and a different one for Sky?

Thanks for getting back to us Bzoow,

This has been put in place to strengthen security and make signing in more  seamless. As you need to use your My Virgin Media details to sign into the Sy app, you will need to set this up first.

I have used my VM O2 ID to sign into Sky Sports on my laptop and STILL get told get get Sky Sports to watch live content! I HAVE SKY SPORTS!!! Works on TV not on laptop or iphone. AAAGGGHHH so bl**dy frustrating. VM are useless, raise a complaint, I go away then they close the complaint as resolved. IT ISN'T RESOLVED, nobody did anything!!!

      Very Insightful Person

      Regarding your laptop.

Do you still have the Sky Sports Player app which is no longer needed installed on your laptop?  If so uninstall it and then try signing in again.

If it still doesn't work (or you don't have the Sky Sports Desktop Player installed) then type 'run' in the search bar on your laptop and open the 'Run' app

Type in '%AppData%' and click 'OK'
      Delete the 'Sky Sports' folders
Click back on 'AppData' and go into the 'LocalLow' folder
Click on the 'Cisco' folder, then the 'VideoGuard' folder
      Delete the 'SKY_GB-SKY_SKYSPORTS' folder
Restart your laptop  and then try again

Thanks newapollo but didn't change anything for me. Appreciate your support though.
