Available programmes on the GO app

Can some please answer the following questions……

1/ I downloaded the Equalizer 3 film to the app whilst at home to watch at work, however when I get to work and go to my Downloads on the app it says it is not available…..why??

2/ Why can I not watch A recording of Top Gear on BBC 3??

3/ How come I can watch TNT Sports programmes on the live TV section of the App but I am NOT able to watch a recording of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby.

Thank you

  • 1: I'm not seeing the "download" option for this film, but I'm able to stream it over mobile data no issue.

2: What's the error code/message you're presented with, when you try?

3: This has been a longstanding rights issue, and is thus by design. I presume you're getting a "can only view at home" message

Does your work internet use a VPN or any type of content blocker software?

Recordings on your boxes can only be viewed on your home network, as the recordings are only licensed for viewing at the address the VM account is held.

The above applies plus there are additional rights restrictions imposed by Warner Media that only allow you to watch some recorded content on a TV.

    Thank you

      Hi thanks for your reply.

I am not sure about the IT system at work, I believe that virgin have removed the download option because I can not even watch the download at home.

With regard to BBC3, I can watch BBC 1,2,4 recordings at home but not BBC3 programmes and I just wondered why. Is it VM being lazy ??

      Thanks

I've tested a BBC3 programme myself tonight and can confirm TV Control gives the "only available on your box" error, BBC1 recordings are OK.

It's odd, I'll concede - possibly programme dependent, but that would need more testing to confirm. I doubt it's VM being "lazy", this would have required intentional action to put the coding or metadata in-place. An unusual BBC rights restriction, far more likely.
