WiFi pod

I have a weakspot in my house (in the office) where when I’ve run tests on the VM connect app the speed comes out at 207 mbps download and then when I go to the room next door it’s 875mbps.

i believe I can get a wifi pod which should sort this issue? But I can’t see how to get one?

could someone help/get in touch about this please.

thanks

You don't qualify for WiFi Max with download speeds of 207 mbps and 875mbps.

    See https://www.virginmedia.com/wifi-max

"Our WiFi guarantee is backed up by our signal-boosting mesh WiFi Pods (if needed) and Intelligent WiFi service. This means if you don’t get download speeds of at least 30Mbps in every room, you can bag up to 3 WiFi Pods, on us –"

  • Hi Dsan25

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Apologies for any WiFi issues. As newapollo has stated (thank you as always), those speeds are more than fine and you do not need a Pod for those speeds.

When we've gone to run checks today, it shows the Hub is offline, is this the case?

There are so many things that can influence a Wi-Fi connection some of which include but are not limited to, a fish tank being in the same room, walls being built with concrete instead of brick, it could even be that your next-door neighbour’s router is interfering with yours. Due to this, we are only able to offer limited help. Please have a look here: https://virg.in/wifisos

The Hub's location could also be causing the coverage problem, so we do need to check the positioning of it. Can you please ensure the following

    Out in the open
Next to the TV not behind it
Away from large bodies of water (e.g., fish tanks)
Away from baby monitors and cordless phones
    Away from microwaves

Think of the Hub as a radio, and WiFi as the sound - the further away you are from the radio, or the more obstacles that are in the way (walls, electronic devices etc.), the quieter the radio & the poorer the WiFi.

    Keep us posted.
