Upgraded from 500 to gigabit with no noticeable change in speed

Hi there

A couple months ago I upgraded to Gigabit internet. I have the Hub 4 as my router. I have used the samknows test and it shows the speed should be gigabit and I've also checked config settings per previous posts on router and the max downstream looks to be correct 

When I do a speed test wired or wireless on any website that isn't samknows speed tops out around 560 which is the same readings I was getting a couple months ago on 500. 

Would appreciate any help

    Check the conf settings on the Hub.  It will show what speed has been provisioned.
    It's Configuration tab - Primary Downstream Service Flow - Max Traffic Rate.

    You need to test Samknows with a direct wired connection to a 1Gb ethernet port device.  Any test over Wifi will not show the correct speeds.  On the Hub 4 expect around 950Mb on a capable device.  Post the Samknows results for comment.  Also note VM only guarantee 30Mb over Wifi...

    Share the screen shot of the Samknows "Full Test" so we can see the speed at the VM Hub.

    I appreciate the comments about needing to be wired.. my issue is that I would never have paid to upgrade if doubling my speed would have 0 effect on the speed of wireless devices. It makes no sense

      500 Mbps is good via WiFi.

      Are your devices even capable of faster speeds?

      The HUB 4 is Wi-Fi 5, so around 500Mbps is a fair speed.

      Keep in mind the faster subscriptions are for sharing between multiple devices at the same time.

    The idea of 1Gb is you can use it with multiple connections, it’s not really for downloading at 1Gb on one WiFi device. ( Yes I know some do before the flames arrive)  If you do need more then you will need to upgrade your WiFi device.
