Slow ethernet speeds and slow combined 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi
I have a Virgin Hub 5 and a 1GB connection.
I've always found it better to separate the two wifi frequencies because combining the two leaves me with speeds of around 70MB down and 30MB up, separating the two gives me around 20MB down and 10MB up on the 2.4GHz connection and 700MB down and 200MB up on the 5GHz connection.
The problem I have is that a lot of my home automation connects to the older 2.4GHz connection which is really quite slow and I really don't know why.
I recently started using the ethernet ports on the hub and discovered that regardless of which of my 1GB devices I connect direct to the hub I can't get speeds greater than 30MB down and 20MB up - why is it so slow?
This is supposed to be one of the better Virgin Hubs and it really isn't performing at all.
