Parallel Speeds
Is it possible to get parallel speeds with virgin media even if I have to pay extra?
What I mean by this is the same upload and download speed.

This is the case yes, but only in specific areas where this is available. VM has not, AFAIK, put anybody live on its own XGS-PON. So, existing customers cannot get symmetrical speeds amd only new customers on nexfibre's XGS-PON can get 2Gbps and symmetrical.
When looking to sign up and are in an XGS-PON area you'll be offered 2Gbps (not available in DOCSIS areas) and the option to get symmetrical speeds.
On XGS-PON you can buy the £6 symmetric add-on for GIG1 as well, not sure about lower tiers though.
The £6 symmetric add-on is available for all speed tiers, but trust VM to so poorly train their staff that some customers were refused it.
