Wifi down since morning

Hi there, my wifi has been down since 9:45am this morning. Had tried the pin reset and turned off and back on all day with no luck. Could you please check and see is there a fault in the area? (Lucan)

Thank you

  • It's not 'WiFi', it's an internet/broadband connection to your HUB over the VM network.

  • You could check your service status in your My Virgin Media account or try 0800 561 0061 which should give you problems down to post code level if they are known about.

If nothing is showing you can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

When you call VM you must refer using the correct terminology, it’s your broadband/internet connection. If you refer to it as WiFi then the call handlers who are not at all technical and work from a ‘script’ sheet will give you the totally wrong information.

  • Hello ZoeckOConnor

Sorry to hear of the broadband issues experienced, we appreciate you raising this via the forums and welcome to the community.

It's been a few days since your post, are you still experiencing the issues? We have these tips available to help with broadband issues:

When running a speed test we would always recommend running this via a wired connection This can be completed using an ethernet cable via a PC or laptop and will allow us to see the speeds available at the Hub.

as above on terminology and it is important when talking to the script readers not to give them any way they can fob you off - they will do that most of the time without any help from you

if you only use wifi then as you understand it then thats down - but the wifi is the secondary function - to have wifi you need to have an internet connection to the hub - thats the start so be more specific if you dont have any wired devices in the house - assuming that what hub have you got and what are the lights on the front doing - that will help people here - maybe not offshore - get a better understanding of what the problem may be - what other questions to ask and [maybe] what the problem is

hopefully some of that gives you a better understanding in getting to a solution or at least some understanding rather tan a load of links to something that either wont work if your connection is down or asking you for to run a test that you may not be able to do
