Running own conduit - VM cabinet within 2m of premises
Hello,
I'm currently stuck with standard ADSL speeds of 14mbps down and 1mbps up (ouchy) courtesy of Openreach, which has been painful, to say the least. So, I have been investigating alternatives, including VM. Currently, Virgin Media does not serve my address, supposedly due to complications of land ownership regarding my driveway, which is shared between five other premises within my block of flats.
Assuming all the other residents are happy for this to go ahead, I've been looking at installing a cable duct that would enable VM to install cabling to my address and, later, other residents if they wish to take out a service.
Usually, I would have ruled this out, as Virgin doesn't tend to do new installs like this. However, there is a Virgin media chamber/cabinet within 2m of the end of the driveway (as shown in the photo), making for a very easy install for VM.
Is there a chance this could work and be arranged? If I completed the duct installation on my premises and Virgin dug the 2m to their equipment?
