Do you have an existing broadband service? The standard advice here is not to cancel it until the new VM service is connected and working. There can sometimes be long delays.

VM has acquired a lot of infrastructure over the years from the many different cable companies that originally built the networks. The networks themselves, & in some cases the plans, were not to that good a standard. So situations like this do happen. This is why it is always good advice not to cancel your existing Broadband until VM is actually installed, as you never know what pre-install is going to find.

In most cases there is a duct network to premises emanating from distribution cabinets, but I won't rule out direct burial of cables from cabinets where one of VM's predecessors was looking to cut costs. Do come back here and let us know what VM tells you.

  • Hi Dave,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community. 😊

I'm really sorry to hear that we've had to put the installation on hold for now due to further works being needed to be completed.

Whilst this isn't ideal, it does happen on occasions due to the way we provide our network. Sometimes this can take some time to complete depending on the issue at hand. As the engineer has advised that they're unable to locate the supply, this could take longer than usual.

The team will be in touch to let you know of an update as soon as one is available for you.

    Thanks,
