Patio damage

When Virigin Media came to my house to set-up my broadband they broke my patio trying to lay the cable. Then they were unable to lay the cable due to a blockage and left. They said they would repair the damage after the cable was laid. After 5 months of repeatedly making appointments and cancelling them, resulting the cable never being laid and never getting broadband, I cancelled the contract but my patio still has this damage.

I have contacted VMO2InsuredClaims and they keep claiming they're going to send engineers but they never turn up. How can I escalate this as once again Virigin Media is making appointments they have no intention of keeping?

    which sounds similar to your story.

    VM's response often seems to be to keep the complainant engaged in communication back and forward but without any actual repairs taking place.

    You can check with the ombudsman if they deal with property damage type claims (I don't think they do)

    Otherwise you may have to submit a small claim to cover the cost of repairs

    A couple of points 

    If VM send someone to fix the patio it will be the same sort who broke it and you may end up with another argument, about the quality of the work. Since they have ignored all your requests, you could engage your own qualified builder to do a proper job and claim the cost back from VM. 

    Secondly if you have been waiting five months for installation you are due a very substantial amount of compensation. VM may try to argue this, but it is your absolute right.
