Received tonight my first kit from Virgin. However a cable is damaged with wires protruding and experiencing intermittent WiFi loss.

We're sorry to hear that you're having some issues with your equipment. Can you please expand and be a little more specific on the cable you're having the issue with? Is this the coaxial cable going in to the hub or the connection on your internal socket? As mentioned by Cardiffman282, could you provide a photo so we know what we're dealing with?
