New Build Home

I am moving into my new house this week, and the whole street has Virgin Media.

Original house (23) was knocked down and 2 built in it's place (23 and 25) next to one another. However the address drop down to order broadband only shows the original house (23).

I've spoken to Virgin Media who haven't been able to help at all, so does any one know how I can update the address drop down to show my address?

Pulling my hair out!

Does the new address appear on the Royal Mail address checker?

Also did the builder put ducting in place to service Virgin Media connections, or Openreach connections for that matter?  You may find the old ducting for VM, if there was any, might not be in place to extend to an additional house.

It's come directly off the pole outside the house for the house next to me, which is literally 1m away. So 25 would come off the same poe.

If VM is providing service via an Openreach pole then it's RFoG or XGS-PON, meaning that the capacity of the CBT on the pole matters. Someone in VM will know if there are any spare ports in the CBT and hopefully you'll get an answer.

VM can send a spotter out to asses the cost of adding the additional address. It will also be dependent on cabinet capacity at the location, particularly if you are in a legacy network area which can only carry a finite number of connections.

Ahh I see, sounds like it could be supplied via Nexfibre XGS-PON?

I believe so - but I need to find a way to add my house number onto the dropdown so I can place the order
