My neighbours installation

Well. Next door installed cable. The installer decided it would be simpler for them to drill through my garden wall and lay the cable though my garden.

I've had no response from virgin.

I'm not happy. My next step is to get my wire cutters out.

How do I escalate this?

You should get a reply from a VM person on here. Response times now seem to be up to 5 days or more.

Be prepared for the likelihood to get the run-around with unending communication back and forth with VM but not a lot of action from VM.

Inform your neighbour then use the wire cutters.

as others have said you will be messed about with apologies and no more - staff on here have no authority other than to refer it to the area manager who is liklely to ignore any request to sort it

you are very much in the middle - the wire cutters are your only reasonable solution but that then puts you at odds with your neighbor - he will report a fault and they will solve that in due course - the likely solution will be to repeat the original install

all fun - well not really but thats how its likely to go

your only other option is to go legal - how that would play out is anyones guess as [again] VM are likely to ignore such things - their interpretation of the law is always interesting as you have found already with illegal trespass

Wire cutting is the last resort. You might try this if you get on well with your neighbours. Get them to unplug the coax connection and then call VM with a fault and say it’s a new installation that’s stopped working. When they have a technician’s date and time they can plug the coax back in until the technician is due. Best to unplug the coax from the omnibox. This way they will not have a loss of service for a long time.

are you working for VM now Tudor - you know thats going to go nowhere - yes it will get a tech who will do nothing - they will walk away as there will be no fault when they get there and even if they did decide to get involved its VERY unlikely they would re route the cable - thats far too complicated

if that were possible then the poster could do that but why should he - VM have damaged his wall - likely damaged his garden and certainly tresspassed - if the op is not fussed about falling out with the neighbour then wire cutters are the best solution - that will force VM's hand

"are you working for VM now Tudor" Never, I’m suggesting a solution to perhaps stop a ‘war’ between neighbours.
