Moving to a house with Virgin 1GB

Hi, we are moving to a house in 3 weeks that already has Virgin Fibre. We work from home and require broadband as soon as we move in. I'm not a current Virgin customer and am out of contract with the current supplier, so I can move to Virgin without penalty. We want 1GB broadband only, which is available. How does it practically work with the existing account holder?

Can I get the kit delivered to my existing home address and set it up when we move in?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for posting in regards to your query in regards to getting service at your new property. Welcome to the community.

As Adduxi has advised, equipment can only be sent to property of installation, we're not able to send it to an alternate address. We'd recommend calling our sales team to see if the property is serviceable on 0800 183 1234 and for installation timescales.

VM will not deliver kit anywhere but the property that it is to be used in.  There can only be one account at an address, so as goslow   has mentioned, until the "old" users close their account, you will not be able to start your "new" account.

If WFH is a must, make plans to use a backup for a while, e.g. SIM based router.  It would be prudent in any case to have a backup irrespective of any other issues.

What sort of contact/comm's do you have with the existing occupant of the property? A frequent log jam which we see on here happens when the existing customer has not put in a cancellation date for their service. VM then has to initiate a 'gone away' process which adds delays.
