Moving hub/socket

Hello

We've had the installation and the engineers recommended that we have the hub and socket in the living room as this is standard practice and that the wifi signal would be good enough for media devices and gaming upstairs.

The connection and signal has not been great wirelessly and I would like to have the socket moved to the upstairs if at all possible.

  • Hi LG139

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your WiFi concerns.

It is better to have the router in the centre of the home as this allows the best chance for the WiFi to reach all areas of the home. If you find that there's not the coverage in some areas of the home then this can be improved with WiFi boosters/extenders if needed. We do offer our own WiFi pods, which you can find out more about here. The pods are an extra £8 a month, unless you're on a Volt package or 1Gig package. If you'd like to try WiFi pods, then you can run the checks for this over our Connect App to see if the coverage in the area needs that boost.

If you prefer to move the router instead, then we can arrange this., but this may still not resolve any coverage issues you may have in the home. There would be a £25 call-out charge for rewiring and relocation requests.
