Moving home

I am planning to move into my new home in th next 2-3 months. The property is currently under renovation, and I would like to have broadband installed there so I can start setting up some devices.

Could you please arrange a new vibra broadband connection at my new address, including a new router?

At the same time, I would like to keep the broadband service and router at my current address active until I complete the move. Once I have relocated fully, I will cancel the old service, but without disconnection charge? My contact ended Feb,2026.

I am happy to pay for both broadband services during this transition period.

I don’t know if VM will be able to do all you require. They can probably install the new cabling, but usually you take your current hub and TV box, if you have one, with you to the new address.

This should be doable, basically you set up a brand new account and contract at the new address, I assume that you own the new property and can agree to have the work done there, and arrange to be on site, when they want to turn up and install the interior cabling.

For a while you will be paying for two connections, the one at your old property and the one at the new, the latter should be cheaper as it will effectively be a 'new customer' deal. And then as you say, once moved, you give VM the required 30 day notice period and cancel the old contract.

All fine, but something you need to be aware of, maybe you are and it doesn't matter, from VM's perspective, there is no connection between the two contracts, nothing from the old one can be 'transferred' to the new one, it's a complete green field setup. And the thing that might be an issue is any VM branded email addresses associated with the old account. They will be lost; there is no possibility of 'moving' them to the new account. This may not be an issue, but if it is, then use the time to start shifting any and all accounts with other parties to a new email address.

Lastly "My contact ended Feb,2026."; was that a typo for 2025? If not then as soon as you cancel the old account, you will be hit with early disconnection charges.
