Issues with new install

I had VM installed last week. The exterior connection was new from the street because the property hadn't been supplied by VM before.

The router seems to disconnect regularly. This affects streaming, work VPN and makes it unusable. This happens in both modem mode and router mode. Occasionally the light on the Hub 5 goes red and it completely reconnects.

I set up a broadband quality monitor - this is yesterday, including around 1215PM when I tried to stream the F1.

There seem to be a large number of errors:

Channel IDLocked StatusRxMER Data (dB)PLC Power (dBmV)Corrected errors (Active Profile)Uncorrectable errors (Active Profile)
35Locked419.423910910873648391

I have tried obvious things like rebooting the router. Advice welcomed.

Around the time of disconnects I see messages like:

  • SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync;[REMOVED]
  • No Maintenance Broadcasts for Ranging opportunitiesreceived - T2 time-out;[REMOVED]
  • Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request,But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4time out;[REMOVED]
  • ToD request sent - No Response received;[REMOVED]
  • Honoring MDD; IP provisioning mode = IPv4
  • DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response;[REMOVED]
  • TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;[REMOVED]
  • REGISTRATION COMPLETE - Waiting for Operational status

if nothing has changed since the tech left he wantsa size 9 up his backside - the downstream levels are too high - 10 is the max - i wll add the rider thats i am not fully up to date with tech specs but thats as it was and i dont think things have changed

there would also look to be problems with errors - - reboot the hub which should zero them and see if the rise

all you can do is check all the connections and see it they are tight - do them in the external box and then those in the house - if that does nothing book a tech - assuming offshore are just as useless as they ever were they will make up all sorts of reasons why its as it is - if you ring turn the hub off and say you need a tech as the connection is down - that should get things moving

Thanks for the reply. Nothing has changed since the install. To be fair the install technician did walk around and show me a speed test at different points on the ground floor. It does hit 500Mbps - but drops regularly if used for any period of time.

I'll follow your advice tomorrow and reboot then check the connections.

Awful connection with power levels out of spec and horrendous PostRS errors.  Dreadful
