Installation on hold thinking of going with BT

Having ordered virgin broadband at the beginning of the year, i am still waiting for what will be a third installation date. Current installation has been on hold for two weeks with no updates.  Customer service is very poor with no information. Not sure how anyone manages to get a broadband service from Virgin at all. Looking at the rest of compliaints about installations,  maybe i a better going to BT.

    "[VM] Customer service is very poor with no information." I hate to say it to a brand new customer but this is such a truism to experienced customers it's like saying the Pope is Catholic. It will also continue to get even worse as VM's CEO has publicly stated his commitment to further wind down customer service and replace it with bots. 

    You should get compensation for the delays btw https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/automatic-compensation-need-know

    Virginmedia runs everything at minimum cost. They use contractors wherever possible and they are usually left to do the work when they get round to it.

    You could be lucky and they install tomorrow, or you could wait for months. As advised above, if you have an alternative, go to it.
