Installation at property

If I request a VM install at a property where there is no existing cabling, will I get a choice about which location on the house the cable comes inside?

for example if I want the cable to be ran round the house and enter the house at the rear living room where the TV will be located?

Also - can you at extra to get an additional Ethernet port at a different location upstairs?

The contractor working for VM to run the outside cable will install it to the quickest and easiest location, which is usually the front of the house.

If you want it at the back you will need to be there at the time, but usually they won't tell you when they are coming since they don't need access to the house..

    They don't install ethernet extensions.

So the connection inside the house is basically just a cable that is shoved through the wall from the outside?

The cable is terminated outside and another cable connected to it and brought inside.

VM can indeed run a cable around a house so long as access is possble.

  • Yes, I think you can ask the contractor to run the cable around your house.

Just to be clear, the inside work and final setup is done by VM staff by appointment since you need to be there.

Before then, the outside work is done by a contractor usually without an appointment, so you will come home from work and find it's been done.
