Infrastructure built 18 months ago, still waiting for Spotters.

I live at 795, all houses up to 780 are “virgin eligible”, yet the next block of houses including mine are still “not eligible”.

The infrastructure work was carried out 18 months ago, I’ve been trying to get a Spotter to come out and validate whether this is a mistake on the system, as all workmen I’ve spoken too have told me that the work they’re doing will service my property.

18 months on I’m still being told it’s not available, and that I’ll have to wait for “deployment teams” to update the system.

They’re clearly not updating the system, because it’s been 18 months with no change, and despite how many times I raise the point, the VM sales/tech teams aren’t understanding that I think it’s a fault on their system, and that my house has been eligible since the work was carried out.

Last ditch attempt here to see if there’s anything I can do, before I sign up to Sky (very reluctantly) for another 3 years.

If you have a choice of Sky, I would presume you are on Openreach infrastructure?  If so, you should have a wide choice of alternative ISP's?

You’re correct yes, however with all providers resting on the same infrastructure, my speeds are capped by all providers to a maximum of 100mbps download, whereas I’m looking for gigabit.

My house is also 3 stories with pretty shocking WiFi outreach throughout, so hoping FFTP / replacing my FTTC will resolve some of the issues.

Working from home on 10% connection is not the best :p

I would suggest getting FTTP will not resolve any Wifi issues in itself.  However the additional Wifi Pods that come with the 1Gb tier might help.

Note that VM Residential contracts do not have any SLA's, so if WFH is a must, you should also install a backup solution, e.g. SIM based Router.

If VM do extend the network to your property, I would advise you not to cancel any existing connection until you have tested the VM circuit for the 14 day cooling off period.  There are many threads here of people left without broadband due to delayed VM installations.
