Engineer support for shortening cables

We have strong winds which have yanked the internet box off the front of the house. I am able to reattach it, but what really needs to be done is to shorten the cable above the internet box. If it is shortened, and also pinned down it will be less prone to being whipped around by the wind. I'd do this myself if it were an easy DIY job, but I think that shortening cables is probably quite specialist. Can an engineer help me with this? If so, how do I go about contacting one? (the Virgin help pages do not mention this type of issue).

    VM will do it for £25. 

    The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post.
