Easy installation but no dedicated socket

Hi there I have virgin broadband at my current rental, at our new flat there is no dedicated virign/telewest socket like in our current flat. But the virgin media website suggests our new address has easy self installation option, despite no socket? please, what is the best contact to clarify this and get a socket installed before I start moving my broadband?

the socket in the pictures is just TV, radio and sat 1 & 2. There is an openreach socket in the hallway, previous occupiers were with Sky.

thanks for for any advice and help.

Tom

You should call the pre-installs team on 0800 052 1734 8AM- 9PM Monday - Friday or 8AM-6PM Saturday and Sunday

thanks I spoke to the moving team on WhatsApp,  they've agreed to waive the movers fee and send an engineer on the day as no socket.

unless the virgin broadband is connected to either the sat 1 or sat 2 socket, I don't think they are the correct types though!?

  • Thanks for replies. I am a leaseholder at our new flat, and the block management company have said I need to get Virgin to clarify the following before installation:

With regard to Virgin media, the company would need to provide us with the plans for the works being carried out if they are connecting to an existing supply.   Otherwise they will need to send us their Wayleave to agree to a newly supplied service.

I have emailed the moving team at virginmedia@homemovers.co.uk , but not sure how quick they'll be in responding. Can anyone advise if there is a better contact I could try to get a quick and clear response that will satisfy our block manager?

    thank you

      Hi TomF92

Welcome back to the community forums

Really great to hear that you're looking to install with us at your new address.

Yes, if you're renting you will need permissions from the landlord/freeholder to install. The homemovers team on the email kindly provided by Cardiffman282 will be able to supply you with the wayleave form to be agreed. Until this is completed and wayleave granted, the team wouldn't be able to install as there is no right of access at this time.

thanks Carley, I resent the email to the correct address straight away last week - not had a response yet, how long should I give them normally?

I did receive a text asking me to look for a socket on the outside, which I will check this week. Not actually moved in although I have keys and own it.

thanks all for the help, you make it sound a bit simpler than the whatsapp support people.
