Do I need a pre install?

Hello, I have an engineer installation booked for Monday. I was offered the self install option but there is no wires going into the omni box outside, would this need a pre install visit to be fixed or will the engineer on Monday be able to connect it? I work from home and have already gone without broadband for 2 weeks due to an openreach issue, so I want to make sure installation goes smoothly, thankyou.

The engineer will attempt to connect you, or arrange for the cable to be re-pulled to the omni box as needed,
be aware snags with cable re-pulls can cause days / weeks or delay.

I'd get fixed and then not cancel the Openreach connection until the VM service has been installed and has been operating smoothly for at least a month.

  • Hi hell0,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. This sounds like the previous homeowner may have removed the cable connection to your home, the team or system would only see that services were installed and should still be available without any preinstall work. I would be happy to take a further look into this for you but first I would need to confirm a few details via private message, please look out for my message and we can get started.
    Kind Regards,
