Broadband speed keeps dropping down

I pay for a broadband speed of 350Mbps, sometimes it's 360Mbps but speed test regularly reports a speed of only 90Mbps. The latitude and longditude reported jumps to random location a mile or so away as well. It works fine and connection isn't the issue - restarting the router does not help. I'm connected by ethernet to the hub so it's definately the external virgin side of the connection at fault. What can I do?

    Hi iwilliamsd ๐Ÿ‘‹,

Thank you for your post and I am sorry that you are having some speed issues. I have checked and we are unable to run our tests as you are in modem mode, could you please come out of this and we can check again to see what is going on for you ๐Ÿ˜Š
    Thanks,
    Zoie

I'll flip it back to router mode tomorrow morning, when no-one will be using it.

Just before rejigging the neatly wired system to change modes, I switched everything off (Hub, router etc.) and waited a minute or so. Then powered everything back on and after the required five minutes for everything to settle, it's back up the correct speed again. Let's see for how long...

It sounds like your WAN IP is changing. This could be either due to VM network changes, or to the Hub in modem mode connecting different devices each with its own MAC code. Does that seem likely?

My external IP hasn't changed in 18 months it seems.
