Broadband in a flat
Hi all, has anyone successfully had broadband installed in a flat? It seems to be very mixed messages from every advisor I speak with.
The street I approach the block on has recently had Virgin activated, I received an email 2 months ago saying my address would be activated in a few days…..yet nothing.
Today another neighbour (house) was having an install so I asked them to speak with the engineer, explain the situation. The engineer said “Its 100% doable” and registered my detail from the sales team. They were quick to call back, but stated that as it doesn’t show up on the list it’s not possible.
The block of flats does have a different road name, and that’s where the shared access is. But my ground floor flat current connection point is the other side. I can see the virgin media box from my living room window, and on that side too are the neighbours who are connected to Virgin. I believe my openreach master socket is less that 4 metres away from where they’ve connected a fibre port to the house next door.
I’ve been on web chat, calls and now spoken with the engineer, they say its possible but whilst the postcode isn’t showing on the system, I’m met with a “system says no”
It’s frustrating that 2 months ago I get told it’s coming in a few days and then nothing! I spoke with a lady on the phone 2 weeks post that email and she said it was imminent and to wait another week. 6 weeks post that and I’ve still heard nothing.
All in all, a poor experience. Has anyone else had similar?
