Block of flats - how can I get Virgin Media Broadband?

Hi, I live in a relatively new(ish) block of flats (built in 2011), however, I'm not currently able to get Virgin Media Broadband. This is a big shame, as my current download speeds with my providor are roughly 60 mbps. It isn't awful.. but as an online gamer & someone who works from home, it's far from ideal. I have a friend who lives on the same road as me & he can get Virgin. I have another friend who lives 2 mins away who can also get Virgin.

I have contacted the management company for my block of flats and they have told me that they will raise the issue with the freeholder!

However, i'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to facilitate this process? Whether if that's making Virgin aware somehow etc.

    If the service at your location is legacy HFC network (1990s built) then you won't get it. Virgin is no longer expanding it's coaxial network, which would have to involve a complete & expensive retrofit of the buildings cabling (at the management companies expense). Virgin is overbuilding with full fibre, but most of the network is yet to go live.

    VM's keen to install in MDUs which are in or close to its network, but often run into problems such as uncommunicative landlords. You should certainly push to get the freeholder involved who will need to give access to VM.
