Virgin broadband blocking Snapchat

I use snapchat for messaging at home and recently I keep getting a notification saying Smapchat has changed over to mobile data as my broadband is blocking access.

I've looked in my settings and all parental controls are off. I've tried Googling, I've searched other settings on Virgins website. I don't know what else to do, as my signal on mobile network isn't brill at home.

Anyone else had this issue and been able to solve it?

Thanks

Manually set the DNS on your device to use Google. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Just Google how to change the DNS on your device.  It will bypass the VM DNS and should help. You need to do it manually on your device because on VM Hubs the DNS can’t be changed.

An app like Snapchat / WhatsApp etc ... can not choose between GSM data or Wi-Fi.

Your mobile is doing the hokey cokey between Wi-Fi and GSM mobile data.

Settings to discourage mobiles from dropping Wi-Fi and reverting to the GSM mobile data.

    For iPhones...

    Disable "Wi-Fi Assist"    Ref:https://support.apple.com/en-us/102228

    For Android phones...

    Disable "Switch to mobile data"

    Settings >> Connections >> Wi-Fi >> ... ( 3 dot menu ) >> "Switch to mobile data"  ( set to OFF )

I can't turn it off because for some reason Virgin is blocking my broadband from running snapchat so if I turned my mobile data off from it then it wouldn't work at all...

The Snapchat issue via Wi-Fi could suggest VM parental Controls
need to be disabled in the VM Online account.
