When to cancel?

I'm planning to leave Virgin when my current contract is up in January. I currently am contracted for Gig1 Volt Boost @ £44.07 which will end on 12th Jan. The price from the 13th Jan will be £75.07. We are moving across the country and wish to end our contract. If I wish to give a full 60 days notice is that 60 days prior to the 12th or the 13th when the price rises? Thank you for any help you're able to give.

There have been many discussions on this one, but the normal period is 30 days for cancellations.  I would advise doing this in writing, recorded delivery, signed for.  Include all details of the account etc.

Send to:   Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR43 4AA

You can do this by phone, but I always preferred to have this in writing.  I've left twice with this method and had no issues.

As Adduxi says, it is 30 days notice on the standard terms and conditions, but that is a minimum, there is nothing against giving more. From elsewhere for whatever reason Virgin Media only cope with cancellations 60 days before the cancellation date, so I would cancel some time between 60 and 30 days giving the exact date you are cancelling, and there will be no confusion.

In terms of the 30 days, 1 day's notice to cancel on the 12th would be given on the 11th. If my maths is right, that makes 30 day's notice as being on the 13th December, so give your cancellation notice some time between the middle of November and that date.
