Very frustrating

Same issue here. Very frustrating.

Can make a second email easily enough and have done so, which is also has allowed me to post here.

All of that doesnt help because I don't have a mobile phone which, apparently, is essential to be allowed to access my emails.

Furthermore, this is only step three. Step four remains a mystery. Without a phone, I don't get to see it. What's that going to be? Credit card? Biometrics? Blood test? Hyperbole for the most part here, but it helps me mitigate the annoyance 

It all just feels like an exercise in data gathering offering a sliver of security as an afterthought.

    According to VM you don't need a mobile phone to setup a VMO2ID.  You can skip steps 3 and 4 and just use the backup email as and when required for verification purposes.
