Unable to access My Virgin Media account via Chromebook

I keep getting the message below. Continued calls to support and latest confirmed that IT support avoiding the issue. Case escalated. Tried clearing cache etc and using incognito to no avail. Issue also stops me viewing Sky Sports via app on Chromebook too

Access via mobile and Amazon tablet OK, which suggests it's a Chromebook issue

Ooops – you can’t do that right now

We couldn’t sign you in just now. Don’t worry — it’s just a quick pause to help keep your account safe.

Try this:

  • Use a device you’ve signed in on before
    • Try again from somewhere familiar
    • If you’re on a VPN, switch it off and have another go

Still stuck? If this keeps happening, get in touch with us and we’ll help sort it.

Try again later

  • ...and as if by magic... Once I was finally able to connect my VM and O2 account, all seemed to get resolved. However, that was a tiresome faff too. So account access via Chromebook has now been achieved, but I still suspect there's an underlying issue with Chromebook access given the number of similar issues here.

  • Hi Vikki_M

WiFi connection only as Chromebooks don't have ethernet ports. I can access via mobile and Amazon silk browser on Amazon firepad. Existing ticket P013062774, but to be honest I ahve little confidence your IT team are seriously looking into this as I've had to escalate twice and I'm now leading up to complain. If you can prove me wrong, that would be a great tick in the box on how unimpressed I've been with Virgin since joining a month ago.

  • Hi RJT44,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

We're sorry to hear you can't access your online account on your Chromebook device.

Are you connected via WiFi or hard wired to the hub?

Are you able to log in when using a different device?

If there is already an open IT ticket raised for this concern, the team will be working on this and will have this resolved as soon as possible.
