Trying to move to a new place with VM

Hi there,

I am trying to get my account moved to a new address (apartment). The apartment has a VM connection socket already.

When I try to select the address of the flat in the drop-down menu of the moving page here (https://www.virginmedia.com/help/moving-home), the drop-down menu shows the correct number of flats for the postcode I am in, but shows "undefined" instead of the flat numbers in the list so that I cannot select the right option. So it shows "undefined, blabla road, towntown, AA1 1AA" instead of "flat 1, blabla road, towntown, AA1 1AA" (obviously those are not the real details).

When I enter the same postcode on the VM home page as if to open a new account, then the flat numbers show up correctly and upon selecting the right flat the site confirms that I can get up to 1gb VM internet.

How can I get around the error in the moving house drop-down menu and the automated moving bot?

  • I also tried the moving bot on the moving page, but that bot also did not recognise the address details correctly and then immediately ended the conversation.

      Hi marcotiemann

I hope the rest of your moving process is plain sailing and that you'll be happy in your new apartment.

It might be best if you actually pseak to the Moving Home team (a daunting process) by calling them for free from a VM landline by dialling 150.

You can also dial  0345 454 1111 which is a free call included in most call plans, as it's the same as dialling an 01,02,or 03 number, however on some calls plans you need to redial after 1 hour to keep it as a free call.

Or you can contact VM on Social Media by either messaging

Hi and thank you for your reply. It wasn't possible for me to get through to anyone on the phone today (calls kept timing out). I left a description of my request on the chat/whatsapp and now also on Twitter (thank you for the link), no replies so far.
