There is an offer of a new deal in My VM

I notice there is an offer within My VM for a new 24 mth deal.  My contract ends in 5 weeks time.  There is a given price for up to April which then goes up and then it increases again the following April.

I was expecting to have to ring up Retentions shortly which is causing anxiety so I am working out whether the deal I am seeing in My VM is liable to be completely correct and safe to accept or could it be altered later as the contract is finalized with me losing out?  I have read of this happening after both sides have agreed.   I am very untrusting sadly.

Thank you

  • Hi scarletp,

The online deal within your personal online account will be correct. If you'd like to accept, you will be sent a contract summary email so you can check all the details. You can then decide if you wish to proceed. If you change your mind, you do also have a 14 day right to cancel period.

If you have any further questions, please pop back to us and we'd be happy to help.

Take screenshots of anything you sign up to. Sadly there are a few threads on here from folks whose deal hasn't been honoured.

One thing that is new is 24 months  That's a long time, and very expensive if you need to cancel early.

If unsure, don't feel pressurised by the end of contract. Just continue on a rolling month to month.  Might be pricy in the short term but you can cancel anytime without charge.   Let them sweat,  not you.

Play the cancellation card , you are likely to get a better offer  and you can always cancel your cancellation. You're in control, till you sign up to a deal you're happy with.

  • Thank you Vikki_M for the reassurance.

Are you able to tell me if the option to chat to the online chat team is still an option?  I suppose I am wondering if one is better than the other.

Currently, I firstly need to decide whether to move my 30 day rolling sim from o2 as presume that affects the Volt broadband speed I get?

    Thank you again.

You can of course talk to them however the deal may differ.

Talking to us directly and online deals sometimes can vary.

If you keep the sim card linked the Volt benefits will stay the same, you only get the free speed upgrade once.
