Terminating account and returning equipment

Hi all,

Moving house in three weeks and have set up brand-new account at the new place and it's all up and running. Needed to be able to overlap and have both houses running at the same time, plus we are downsizing from BB/TV/Phone to just BB.

I'm out of contract at the present house, so what's the procedure for terminating this account and what equipment needs to be returned and how?

We currently have a Hub 5, a V6 TV box and an older TiVo box. I suspect they'll want the Hub 5 returning at least?

VM Contracts don’t expire, they just become 30 day rolling.  You have to give 30 days notice of termination.  Once done you should receive a final bill.  As for returning kit, VM should supply the packaging for their kit.

VM will want the hub 5 and the V6 box returning.  I suggest also returning the older tivo box as well. Although it's not essential to return the tivo as it can be  recycled, it's probably just as easy to send that back too,

The returns packaging sin't usually sent out until after the account has been closed so VM would need your new address to send it to.

You can order the returns packaging yourself via https://www.virginmedia.com/help/request-prepaid-pack

You can also use the following link to print out your own returns label and use your own packaging.

      https://www.yodel.co.uk/returns/virgin

After clicking Create a new label. you will be prompted for your email address. Once you receive the email you will be able to print out a returns label which includes a barcode. You can then parcel up your equipment and drop it off at the nearest Collect + store. Enclose a covering note with your account number and details of the returned equipment including serial numbers.

Make sure you receive a tracking receipt and keep it safe.

** Use either or both of the following links to find your nearest store (they have different shops listed)

      https://www.collectplus.co.uk/find-a-store

       https://www.collectplus.yodel.co.uk/store-locator?v=2.

You can also return your equipment via an O2 store if you have a local one. If you do take that route then make a note of your account number along with the serial numbers of any equipment you are returning and give that to the O2 staff, retaining a copy yourself and possibly get them to sign for it/and or take a photo.
