Sorry to see you are having problems amending the VM DD details. Looks like you've managed to sort out the O2 one though.
Looking at the forums there were issues earlier today which now seem to be resolved although I don't think this is related to your problem.
I'm not sure if your issue is actually account related (VM systems) or date related.
Thinking back to some previous posts about changing DD bank details or payment date it seems there is a very small period when the system can accept these changes. I seem to recall it's between the date the actual payment is made and the date that the next bill is produced.
(My billing date is 23rd of the month, but the actual date the payment is taken is 10th of the month, so if I wanted to make changes it would be between the 11th and 22nd of the month)
I think there's a possible workaround, however in my case due to the payment date it would mean I would be making two payments this month, one today, and a second on my normal payment date via the existing DD. That would mean my account would be in credit, so either no payment would be taken next month, or I would have to make an indemnity claim to my bank to claw back the additional payment.
The workaround would be to click on the "Set up your direct debit" link in the first section on the following page. (I didn't actually have to sign into My Virgin Media - the link opened the page directly)
