Re: Virgin Media asking to return old equipment

I recently signed up and eventually the new router arrived (isn't working correctly as per usual), and the box gives instructions to return the old one. Since I'm still in the 14 day cooling off period I wanted to see if they would put me back on a lower broadband speed and I could just keep the old router.

The engineer was like "I can return that for you it's fine". I said it's fine because I don't trust VM at all yo do anything competently and figured it would get lost and then I'd get charged. So I'm gonna drop it off at the yodel point recorded delivery

Ideally I want to just cancel and return both routers to them as I'm sick of them and don't want the hassle again in 2 years when I try to leave. However I keep hearing these horror stories about people being charged after cancelling in their cooling off period and receiving bills for £600 so wth is that about 🤷
