The correct place is customer services. VM staff on the board cannot close your account.

You have posted on the Email section of the forum so the natural assumption is that you are referring to an email account.
Is that correct?
If so, it would save time if you could post:
- whether the email account is currently linked to a live VM broadband account and if so whether the broadband account is in your name.
- whether it is (or was) a secondary email account or the main VM email account for that broadband account.
You will almost certainly need support from one of the VM staff who support this forum but if you can post the above information it will set the scene for them and save them having to ask you.
However, don't post the email address, account number or any other personal information. The VM team will use the private message (DM) function of the forum to obtain that. One of the VM team will contact via this thread in the next day or so.

Just to clarify, if the "account" you wish to close is an email account, particularly one that is no longer attached to a live broadband account then the VM staff on this forum can certainly arrange to have that deleted.
See here for a recent example of where a VM staff member is offering to do that for someone:
ntlworld email hacked - need it deleted | Virgin Media Community - 5659355
That's why I asked for clarification of the status of the account.

Hi,
No I need to close the whole account email and utilities, everything. Any advice on that?
- newapolloVery Insightful Person
Sorry swedishkitty but your post is still vague.
What are the utilities and everything you are referring too?
Do you have a broadband contract with VM, possibly along with a mixture (or all of) TV, landline, and mobile that you are wanting to cancel?
If so then you will eitherhave to use the One Switch process to switch to a different supplier, or place a 30 day cancellation notice with VM.
