Package pricing

have to say

my contract ends in 2 months

and i am seriously looking at sky q and broadband deal (including sky sports )900MB,S

whole package for £68  month

and might get couple months free

last 18 months been a nightmare with vm

just paid this months bill and on my account page ( when its not messed up )

say renew offer £77 a month that only i i keep same package

lol sorry but tnt is going not having that on any package now

and does not inc any sky sports etc just tv without keeping tnt

i get 172 free view channels 90% of the vm channels there

over last 18 months vm lie/ say they called but never did

just copy/paste replies etc

you decide what you want 1st THEN just go with it

dont call them (vm)

give your months notice they will try to keep you so they will call you

if they dont call then go elsewhere

hope you get sorted

i will now finally after over 7 years

LOYALTY COUNTS FOR NOTHING NOWADAYS

REMEMBER THAT

  • Hi tcoftopcatsm,

Thank you for your post. We're sorry to hear you're thinking of leaving.

If you do wish to discuss renewal options, we are happy to.

If you don't wish to then we do understand and wish you all the best with your new provider.

but DONT USE YOUR VM PHONELINE FOR THAT NUMBER

UNLESS YOU HAVE FULL PHONE ANYTIME PACKAGE

I HAD TO USE IT ON MY LANDLINE FROM VM ONE DAY

THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME OVER £30 BECAUSE NOT ON FULL CALL ANYTIME PACKAGE

they do try to con as much as possible out of you

Not sure why you rant in capitals :)

Be prepared to go is all I can say. If your package is cheaper, maybe better, then no need to stay with any provider. It sounds like you have tried the renewal process and not happy with the price. From what you said, and if you need Sky Sports, then the alternative package is far better for the price than what you have now.

As evident on these forums, day after day, VM's shift has been to new customer incitements and days of old, where good renewal offers were easier to negotiate would seem to be in the past, that would seem like a strategy shift from the past. It's probably because there are customers who threaten to leave every contract renewal, then don't. Yes, it's annoying if VM are the only current fast internet provider in an area. Again, giving 30 days notice was a fair guarantee of a call back from outbound retentions to offer a final deal, but even those seem to be for customers who haven't haggled a deal before, and if you have, you may only get an offer 2-3 days before disconnection actually takes place by SMS.

P.S. I had Sky Stream for a bit. I returned it. The software was full of bugs like "Please wait for the channel to load" which affected many other people, gets fixed in a firmware update, then gets regressed and appears again. The hardware is slow as hell. The catch up apps often do not work as Sky load them in a remote Virtual Machine (layman description) and is constantly over subscribed. Unless you opt for a satellite installation which costs more per month, the Sky Stream box may be frustrating, and it can't record any programme from any TV channel. It has no storage onboard except for limited pause buffer of live tv.
