Options for new plan on renewal

I am currently thinking of moving to Sky Fibre Broadband now my contract is up but I do want to give Virgin Media a chance (Saves starting again and getting more stuff drilled into my wall).

Before I call retentions I just want to check something.  I am mainly interested in Sky's tiny TV box - I am wall mounting my TV and the old Virgin 360 box isn't suitable for my setup.  I would prefer to replace it with a Virgin Stream Box so I can mount it behind my TV.

When I ask for a new deal is it likely I will be able to ask be moved to a streambox flex plan without the need to keep the old 360 box?  Alternatively is it possible on renewal to get rid of the TV plan from my bundle, return the old box and then choose to add a flex plan later on a rolling 30 day basis?

Thanks.

You will not get a better deal now your initial 18 months are up.  Your discounts will disappear, and you will have to negotiate a new deal with retentions.  If you have anyone else in your property, they could take out a contract as a new customer with all the price advantages.  Or leave for 3 months and come back as a new customer.  Also the new VM contracts are 2 years I believe with the annual April increases.   As for the Stream box, it is the standard offering now, and the 360 is at an additional cost.

As long as you don't mind losing the recording facilities of the V360 box, then there should be no issues moving to Stream. The packages for both are the same. The V360 box fee mentioned is only for installation.
