Ntlworld email

Hi

I have not been able to access my principal Ntlworld email account on my iPhone for 3 days.

I have deleted the account and tried to add it back onto my iPhone but registering has delivered the following response:

“Wrong username and/or password provided for

"Eddie ".

“Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter the correct username and password.”

Can you advise on what is happening with Ntlworld email accounts and how I can get my principal email account added to my iPhone

Thanks

  • The most important question is this ‘are you a current VM broadband customer’?

      The procedure has changed

  • Hi ealsmith1960 thanks for posting and welcome to our community forum.

Sorry to hear you cannot currently access your NTLWorld email address on your iPhone. And for any inconvenience this may be causing. For my understanding, are you able to access on other devices or platforms? This includes webmail via My Virgin Media. Also, are you an existing broadband customer with ourselves? As this was/is one of the requirements for when we still issued email addresses. And for maintaining them.

You are aware the whole aspect of accessing mailboxes has radically changed?  You now need a 3rd party email address for each mailbox and a separate four word password for your “app” to access.   The access to My VM and webmail is via the 3rd party address.  For “app” access it’s the NTL address and four word password.

Thanks ealsmith1960 we'd recommend having a 3rd party email address to access your online account. Then following the below steps.

      • Sign in to My Virgin Media
      • Go to Account settings
      • Click Virgin Media Mail Settings
      • Security and sign in details
      • Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password
      • Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked.
      • Update any third-party apps that may be used to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.
