No internet connection

Is anyone able to help. Came home from work and have a red flashing light on the hub 5 router. I have tried turning off then back on and resetting the router but still the same.

  • A red flashing light on the Virgin Media Hub 5 typically indicates a problem with the connection. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Service Outages: Visit the What do the lights on my Hub mean? | Virgin Media Help or call their automated service status number at 0800 561 0061 to see if there are any known issues in your area.
    2. Inspect Connections: Ensure all cables are securely connected to the Hub and the wall socket. Loose connections can sometimes cause this issue.
    3. Overheating Check: Make sure the Hub has proper ventilation and isn't overheating. If it feels unusually hot, turn it off and let it cool down before restarting.
    4. Factory Reset: If a simple reset hasn't worked, try a factory reset. Use a pin to press and hold the reset button on the back of the Hub for about 30 seconds. Keep in mind this will erase any custom settings.
    5. Contact Support: If none of the above works, you may need to contact Virgin Media's customer support 0345 454 1111 or for new customers, the number to call is 0300 131 9989 for further assistance. They might need to send a technician or replace the Hub.
