New contract issues

Hi everyone,

Last week I was offered a new deal after I contacted VM regarding a seperate issue.

I still had 6 months left on my contract, paying £92pm for all TV services, extra box and 500mb bb. But seen as I was in contact with Virgin now, I thought I may as well hear them out if they can offer me something that lasts for the next 2 years. Save myself another call.

I agreed to the new deal, which was presented to me as keeping the same package I have now, upgrading to 1gbps bb and paying £110pm for 2 years.

After a few days, the new contract kicked in and not only had Sky Sports all reverted to SD, I'd also lost all the TNT channels.

So after contacting VM again, they stated these weren't included in the new contract and they'll find me a better deal. So they added the Sports HD and TNT, but now it'll be £113.50pm for 2 years. Ok, I agreeed to this.

After recieving the contract via email, it turns out that the promotion would only appy for 6 months and that I would then be paying £140pm. Not what I agreed to on the phone. And I certainly don't want to pay £140pm. That's a ridiculous amount.

So, another call to Virgin Media, and they're now telling me, despite being well within the 14 day cool off period, that I can no longer return to my initial contract of £92pm of which I still had 6 months left. No explanation to why. Just someone saying they'll raise a complaint. Nobody has been in touch with me since.

Meanwhile, all my sports channels are still showing in SD and the TNT sports aren't yet working either.

I'm at the end of my tether with it all. I've given up calling because the phone agents can't or wont help me out. I'm getting nowhere.

I'm now paying for a service I don't want. Worse still, after having no issues with Virgin for 10 years, and after agreeing to a new 24 month contract, they've actually left me feeling like wanting to leave completely after this whole mess.

I've tried to contact VM via Twitter, but they're ignoring my messages.

I don't even know where to go from here. Please, please can someone contact me to try and resolve this mess.

If anyone has any tips on how to resolve it, please let me know, because I just feel like I'm not even being listend to now.

Thankfully, this has now been resolved.

  • Hi mikedlw,

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear of the experience you've had.

Package changes aren't something we do via this forum. However, so I can get a few more details from you I've popped you over a private message.
