Netflix billing help

Hi, I need help understanding Netflix charges after adding it to my Virgin Media bill.

I added Netflix to my Virgin Media billing mid-month, so I expected to pay per month. My first bill shows a higher Netflix amount, and it also looks like a second month has been added even though I’m still in the first Netflix month.

Details:

  • Netflix added/started: 20/12/2025
  • Charge shown for Netflix on bill: £8.39 (I’m guessing this is pro-rata)
  • Another Netflix charge listed: 01/02/2026 – £5.99
  • Virgin Media Bill date: 09/01/2026

Questions:

  1. Why is a Netflix charge dated 01/02/2026 already showing on my bill dated 09/01/2026?
  2. If I cancel Netflix before the end of the first Netflix month, will the 01/02/2026 charge be removed/credited?
  3. If I cancel before the first month ends, will the initial pro-rata amount (£8.29) be recalculated/credited so I only pay the standard for that month (or less), rather than the higher pro-rata charge?

Thanks

AFAIK, VM usually  bill in advance, so you could be correct about the charges?

    Info below from https://www.virginmedia.com/legal/netflix

    3. By adding Netflix to your bill and activating your Netflix account, you agree that Virgin Media (including through our agent Virgin Media Payments) will bill you for your Netflix subscription charges on a monthly basis. You agree to pay for the Netflix service in full in advance from the date your Netflix Service is activated. We will align the payment for your Netflix service with the rest of your Virgin Media bill, so if you activate Netflix during your bill cycle, we’ll calculate the pro-rated amount for that month, and add it to your next bill.

    5. You can manage your Netflix subscription and view your bill via your My Virgin Media account. You can cancel your subscription on 30 days’ notice, and we can do the same. 30 days’ notice? That isn't standard for Netflix
