Moving house and contract issues

Hi,

I have a broadband-only contract. I recently moved house, making no other changes, however have noticed that my contract appears to have been renewed and extended for another 18 months?

I didn’t consent to this nor have I received anything to state this would happen. I’ve read that in these instances, the contract end date can be manually amended to reflect the original contract. 

I would appreciate if someone could please advise the best way to do this without being tied up on the phone for hours. Thanks.

    You are not the first to have this happen.  It should just be a "Move and Transfer" with no change to your existing contract.  The only change is a new account number, as these are tied to your address.

    If you wait here a day or two a VM Mod should pick this up and discuss directly with you.

    Sorry to hear about the issue with your contract starting after moving house.
    I’d like to investigate this for you, as it's possible to match the contract length.
