Linking new virgin ID with phone email

I've just set up my new email ID login with a passkey. So presumably the old password no longer works. How do I update the account on my Andoid phone (which uses the same password). Also the Virgin control app which accesses my TV box.

I don't really want to logout and see what happens, in case the phone email can't get access.

  • Further to this, how do I log in to other VM emails on my account. Previously I logged out of my email, then logged in with the different email address. Now you go straight to the main account with no option to change the email.

Edit, I managed to get the new email prompt and set up a passkey for the second email. Now I have a choice of two emails to log in with. But now it needs me to select the passkey and enter my PIN. Much more trouble than before, where it remembered which email address you last used and went straight into the account. A passkey shoudn't need a PIN as well.

  • Hi kevinh, thank you for your post.

Just to clarify, are you trying to set an app password to use an Android email app? If so, advice on how to do that can be found in this article here.

Try following the four steps outlined and let us know how you get on.

    Regards,
    Daniel

      Hi Daniel,

I have my Android phone email set up like that at the moment. What concerns me is does that change now I log in on the website using a passkey? Currently everything still works, but if I ever need to set the phone mail account up again does the same old password still work? I don't intend to try that now, I want to know how it's expected to work. I only discovered this this morning and knowing a passkey was a good security idea went through with the process without checking. Is this change documented on the website somewhere?

My other problem is using the other email addresses set up on our account as webmail on PCs or tablets. My wife's VM email, for example. Is she going to have to jump through these hoops if ever she needs to log back in or changes her phone. She only has one email account, so can't give another to verify her ID.
