Getting cheaper deal

Asked about cheaper price nearing end of contract they told me cheapest deal would involve sending out device to plug into hub to do with phone even though i dont have phone with them, said it didnt matter.

I was not sure about this, didnt see reason for it refused the offer.

Can anyone explain this to me and let me know if it would have been ok to accept, would appreciate the help

    Hi McKenzie34

VM offer discounted deals for bundles. Since VM offer quadruple services (TV, phone, broadband and a mobile sim) very often higher discounts are available, making the price cheaper, if you take additional services.

You don't have to use the actual landline, in fact you don't even have to plug it in, but it does come in handy if you need to contact VM as dialling 150 to speak to them from that landline would be a free call.

With the phone line service VM are hoping they can make additional revenue due the customer using the service outside of their particular calling package - for example a customer on the weekend chatter package would get *free calls all weekend, but if they made a phone call during the week then they would be charged at standard rate for those calls.

*if calling on a weekend then that customer should redial before 60 minutes is up to avoid call charges. Calls over 60 minutes would be charged at standard rates.

  • Hi McKenzie34 👋 Welcome back to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear these concerns about your experience exploring new package deal options with us.

We have a range of deals and offers available depending on which services you take out with us. There's also a range of discounts which can be applied as part of an agreed contract term - usually with the highest of these being for multiple services with us (For example, Broadband, TV and Phone).

It may be the case that the best deal available involved adding on the landline service - which would involve us sending out an adapter to you which you can use to connect a landline phone to your hub.

We don't generally offer support with package changes via this platform as they are best done in real time. But please do feel free to get back to us here if we need to offer support in raising a complaint, so there's a formal record of your feedback.
